Peter Life Journey

My name is Peter lim and I’m a Digital Marketing with a big dream of establishing a community network where all digital knowledge is been preserved and helping others with marketing assessments like IPO and SME companies to gain their faction in the digital world.

I started my career in the printing and publishing industry many years from as small as flyers printing to as big as the display on buses, trains, and aeroplanes this experience has made me who I am today.

Although I was happy with my job, I always felt that there was more to life than just printing, and then one day, while I was watching a movie smurf back in 2011, I realized that the world of digital is nearing when all digital display billboard in the scene changed its poster, but that’s not the only thing that changed, it also changed my whole outlook of advertisement for the future.

I wanted to be the guy who press the button, where I could help brands grow through digital marketing. Who would have thought watching a movie in the cinema would change my life perspective haha.

That was the aha moment when I decided to take a bold step toward my dreams and change my career path. It took me 8 months of training and hard work, but I finally got a gold medal in Digital Marketing from Next Academy to me a degree in college is just a passport for you to be accepted into the company.

After that, I’ve never looked back! I started digging into the dark secret receipt of success as a white hat with digital marketing doing analyze and monitoring of what kind of engagement should one company have…

Previously I work with some of the biggest brands in the world from Loreal, Lancome, Luxasia, YSL, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, and Louis Vuitton to FMCG such as Mamee, Old Town White Coffee, and Munchy. Today I work with brands like AAG Markets, Ecogreen Garden, Allcharacterstore, Finfixer, and BEInternational.

I’ve been working in digital marketing for almost seven years now. This means seven years of learning about so many different brands and businesses—and how they all need different things from their marketing teams.

I love what I do because every day is different and challenging—and also because it means that every day I get to help companies grow their businesses by telling their stories through digital platforms like blogs or Instagram or Facebook or Twitter or Tiktok or youtube (or all of them!).

It’s amazing how much people are willing to pay for good content these days and how many clients are willing to pay me for my expertise in helping them create it!

It’s been such a treat getting to know all these different companies and what makes them tick that rocks my world!

Peter's Guiding Principles

As an entrepreneur, there are many opportunities to get distracted. I have a few guiding principles to keep myself grounded and focused on the right things. After all, in the world of online business, it’s just as easy to lose your path as find it. These principles keep me on course.

1

I believe that life is about the journey, not the destination. It’s about experiencing life to the fullest and being open to what comes your way. I don’t just believe it — I live it...every day

Create your own luck by learning from bad things that happen, then repeating the behaviors that allowed them to happen. When good things come along, learn how to stimulate more things like them to happen. That’s called creating your own luck, which is a far better option than trying to control the uncontrollable.”

2

I prefer to take responsibility for my own outcomes. Whether success or failure, I want the satisfaction of knowing my results are my own.

The greatest thrill in life is to experience success that you manufactured yourself. When you work hard for your own rewards over a long period of time, the joy comes from knowing that your hard work has paid off and you’re getting what you want out of life. Failures and missteps will happen along the way. That’s natural. When they occur, get up, learn from them, and move forward.

3

Create your own path to happiness and success. You can have the life you truly want if you have the courage to be true to yourself, embrace change, and fight ridged thinking.

If you haven’t stopped and asked yourself what your goals are, then ask yourself now. Are you happy with where you are at in life? If yes, then what will it take to get you to where you want to be? Or if no, then why not? We all have different ideas about what happiness is, which is why we shouldn’t all follow the same path. To embrace our unique passions and enjoy our own forms of fulfillment, we must be willing to step off the prescribed path and forge our own

My Projects

Here’s a short list of just some of the projects I’ve been working on lately.

SPI

I started the Smart Passive Income blog as a way to give back to the community of creative and ambitious online entrepreneurs like me. I wanted to help others answer the questions I once faced as well as share the tools and techniques that work for me.

Transparency is a huge part of this blog, as it is with everything I do online. My businesses, strategies, and income are all publicly shared for the world to see.

The Smart Passive Income Podcast

I created the Smart Income Podcast because I know firsthand how useful podcasts are for learning about business strategies and tactics. So, through my show, I reveal all of my online business and blogging strategies, income sources, and effective marketing tips and tricks so you can get ahead of the curve with your online endeavor.

I’m super thankful that the podcast has, since 2010, earned multiple awards, been featured in The New York Times, and has generated a total of over 60,000,000 downloads!

SwitchPod

In 2017, my videographer Caleb Wojcik and I came up with the idea for a brand new tripod for Vloggers. 2 years later, the SwitchPod launched on Kickstarter and raised over $415,000 from over 4,000 backers, and today this growing physical product business is making waves in the video product space.

FuseBox.fm

In 2015, my team and I created a podcast player called The Smart Podcast Player to encourage binge listening and subscriptions on websites. Thousands of customers later, this software company has now become FuseBox.fm, a suite of tools to help podcasters grow their business and connect with their listenership on their websites.
