Chuan Tue Soon well known as “ah fu” comes from the small fishing town of Tanjung Sepat, Selangor, the 28-year-old became an instant millionaire when his team LGD Forever Young came in third at The International 2017. He brought home USD 518,446.20 (RM2.07 million), making up 88.54% of his total earnings.

Ah Fu decided to become a professional ‘Dota player when he turned 20. In an interview with New Straits Times, he said “One day, I told my parents about my plans, and that I would do my best to achieve my dreams. They seemed supportive of my decision and I just went for it… never looked back.”

Ah-fu is ranked #170 in highest overall earnings, and #5 in highest earnings for players from Malaysia.

Out of the 47 tournaments awarding cash prizes that Ah-fu had competed in, the largest amount was $518,446.20 from The International 2017 on August 12, 2017. His 3rd place finish makes up 63.50% of his total prize money won.

Ah-fu overtook the $100,000 milestone on August 12, 2017, winning $518,446.20 and placing 3rd at The International 2017. Prize money from 16 tournaments got him to that point.

In the last 90 days, Ah-fu has won $1,850.00 in cash prizes from 2 tournaments, $650.00 (or 35.14%) of which came in the last month.

Tue “ah fu” Soon Chuan is currently playing for Team SMG.

Today, Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung is one of the most respectable and well-known players in the entire ‘Dota’ scene. Mushi has over 280,000 fans on Facebook and is a role model for many gamers and aspiring pros.

However, pursuing a career in ‘Dota’ wasn’t easy for Mushi as his parents believed that he should’ve gotten a proper job instead of playing video games for a living. At one point, Mushi’s mother even locked him out of the house for a few hours because he went to play ‘Dota’at a cyber cafe.

“Give me one more year, if I fail, I will find a job,” said Mushi to his parents. His parents agreed to his terms, and needless to say, that turned out well for Mushi.

Mushi’s career as a professional ‘Dota’ player started in 2011 when he signed up with Orange Esports.

He came quite close to winning The International on three different occasions, finishing third in 2013 (with Orange eSports), fourth in 2014 (Team DK), and fourth in 2016 (Fnatic).

With Fnatic in 2016, Mushi brought home USD1.4 million (RM5.6 million) in prize money together with Yeik “MidOne” Zheng Nai, Khoo “Ohaiyo” Chong Xin, and Adam “343” Erwann Shah and one player from the Philippines, Djardel “DJ” Jicko Mampusti.

Mushi is currently ranked #128 in highest overall earnings, and #4 in highest earnings for players from Malaysia.

The most money that Mushi has won from a single tournament was $290,786.40 from The International 2016 on August 13, 2016. He placed 4th, making up 28.31% of his total prize money won.

On January 1, 2014, Mushi arrived at the $100,000 milestone, winning $33,046.93 and placing 1st at WPC ACE Dota 2 League. Prize money from 21 tournaments got him to that point.

Cheng Jin Xiang known as nothingtosay began his career in 2018 but he has already played for one of the most prestigious organizations in the world.  

Like the majority of esportsmen, NothingToSay’s road to the top of the industry had begun long before he joined a professional team. Since an early age, Cheng had been spending a lot of time on computer games where he showed excellent results. Consequently, it helped him to build a career as a professional gamer.

The first team for NothingToSay was BLACKJACK. It was a Malaysian roster that participated in local tournaments. The team was unable to show truly worthy results, however, NothingToSay stood out among his teammates.

In October 2018, he was noticed by WarriorsGaming.Unity, who offered him to join their roster.

NothingToSay played for WGU for 5 months. In this time his biggest result was second place at World Electronic Sports Games 2018 Southeast Asia Finals and fourth place at ANGGAME China vs SEA #3 – Online Final. Also, the team tried to make it to all possible top-tier tournaments but all of them brought nothing but failure to the gamer.

The next club was Powe of MYSG+AU. NothingToSay spent more than 3 months in the mix but he could not show any good results there.

After that, the gamer moved to Geek Fam where he played from June to August 2019. As part of Geek Fam, NothingToSay failed the open qualifiers for The International 2019 and later left the team.

In August 2019, the gamer joined Alpha x Hashtag. There NothingToSay managed to win Hashtag Indy Tournament Season 2 and after that in November 2019 moved to EHOME

His transfer to EHOME started a new chapter in the gamer’s career. Now NothingToSay became a member of a prestigious organization that holds a reputable status in the Chinese region. The tournaments and the opponents were equal to the team.

It took the gamer several months to blend into the game and in 2020 his results improved.

In April 2020, the team took third place at ESL One Los Angeles 2020 – Online: China, fourth place at CDA League Season 1. One month later the team took third place at OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: China, and then triumphed at DPL-CDA Professional League Season 1.

In July 2020, the team took 5-6 place at OGA Dota PIT S2: China and won the second season of DPL-CDA Professional League.

In September 2020, NothingToSay joined PSG.LGD as a leased player and it did not take him long to become a champion of a prestigious Chinese tournament.

NothingToSay is currently ranked #66 in highest overall earnings, and #3 in highest earnings for players from  Malaysia.

Out of the 31 tournaments awarding cash prizes that NothingToSay had competed in, the largest amount was $1,040,480.00 from The International 2021 on October 17, 2021. His 2nd place finish makes up 67.63% of his total prize money won.

NothingToSay obtained $100,000 in total prize money earned on June 13, 2021, with a $40,000.00 cash prize from his 1st place finish at WePlay AniMajor 2021. Prize money from 20 tournaments got him to that point.

NothingToSay just won a share of USD600,000 in cash prizes from a single tournament.

2. Midone Zheng, Yeik Nai $1,819,363.44

Yeik Nai Zheng well known as “MidOne”, 26, is hailed as one of the best ‘Dota players in the world. For a brief period, he was the highest-ranked player in the world based on ‘Dota’s matchmaking rating (MMR).

MidOne began his professional ‘Dota’ career in December 2015 with Fnatic and helped them to fourth place in The International 2016. He became the first Malaysian ‘Dota 2’ player to move to Europe when he joined Team Secret in 2016. 

MidOne and his current team, Team Secret, kicked off 2018 in the best possible manner as they won their first tournament of the year, Captain Draft 4.0. Starting the year off by winning USD21,600.00 (RM86,400)?

At this time, MidOne is ranked #49 in highest overall earnings, and #2 in highest earnings for players from  Malaysia.

Out of the 74 tournaments awarding cash prizes that MidOne had competed in, the largest amount was $411,960.80 from The International 2019 on August 25, 2019. He placed 4th, making up 22.64% of his total prize money won.

On July 24, 2016, MidOne arrived at the $100,000 milestone, winning $7,500.00 and placing 3rd at StarLadder & i-League StarSeries – Season 2 (Dota 2). Prize money from 10 tournaments got him to that point.

xNova first entered the local Dota 2 scene by joining Lowyat E-Sport with 343. Later in 2013, he joined “Nara Stacks” as a mid player with JoHnNy before his departure to China to join team Rattlesnake. A few months later, xNova joined GeNySis but left in less than half a year. Back to “Nara Stacks”, the team reformed and was named Who2Bet. He took the captain role in the team and made the transition from mid to a support role. The team has won several local tournaments, with the peak achievement of winning 2nd Place in South East Asia Dota 2 Championship.

In early 2016 xNova joined Mineski-X and set the aim to qualify for The Manila Major 2016 and The International 2016. He joined WarriorsGaming.Unity during the fall shuffle and made his first international impact by qualifying for The Boston Major 2016 where WG.U placed 5-8th.

xNova left WarriorsGaming.Unity after the team failed to qualify for The International 2017. He rejoined the team featuring a new multinational lineup, including Feero and Velo.

In early 2018, LGD Gaming announced that xNova would be joining the squad as position five, replacing Yao who intended to take a break from the competitive scene. The team found immediate success by qualifying for two DPC events consecutively.

Currently, xNova is ranked #41 in highest overall earnings, and #1 in highest earnings for players from  Malaysia.

Before his 18th birthday, xNova was awarded $600.00 in cash prizes from a single tournament. 0.03% of his total prize money was earned before October 1, 2015.

Out of the 53 tournaments where xNova received a cash prize, the largest was $817,029.60 from The International 2018 on August 25, 2018. His 2nd place finish makes up 41.60% of his total prize money won.

On May 6, 2018, xNova reached $100,000 in total prize money won with a $100,000.00 cash prize from his 1st place finish at EPICENTER XL 2018. Prize money from 17 tournaments got him to that point.
